Torta Fritas

When Gus was a boy, and it was cold and rainy outside, Gus's mom would make them torta fritas, which are a type of fried dough. So one cold and rainy day here in Spain, Gus made torta fritas for our boys. Little bites of fried delishness (Is there such a word?) with some powdered sugar on top. Doesn't everything taste better with powdered sugar on top?! I think so!

The boys knew something special was happening. They jumped up and down in anticipation. Squealing and trying to eagerly catch a glimpse of what Daddy was making. Because everything Daddy makes always tastes very yummy and is very special!

Gus did a great job cooking the torta fritas. He said they were pretty close to how his mom made them.  And we all had fun! New memory made on a cold and rainy day!!

    1. Actually Jess it's just a dough of flour then fried. Do the pastelitos in Nicaragua have something inside?
