Successful family pictures with children is difficult. Successful family pictures with multiple,
young, children is almost impossible :) Getting everyone to be happy, smiling, looking at the camera, with their eyes open can take quite a few tries. And even then, you are not guaranteed to have results. Which was the case in our last photo session. We even had to do two separate photo shoots and still did not have one single photo that we totally loved. Here are some of the outtakes...
It was almost impossible to get Coen to smile. But as soon as he was back on the ground and playing with Queenie, he produced the cutest smiles ever!!
Thankfully we got a few that are "passable", even though Coen is not looking :) I am so thankful that we live near really cool places to take photos!
Melissa, I feel your pain! Shortly after Charlie was born, my sister from Colorado my dad's mom was visiting from California so we decided it'd be an excellent opportunity for a large family picture. With Julie, Charlie, my other sister, her husband and two kids, my parents, and two grandmothers, we ended up taking 277 pictures. (Not all of them were with everyone, (some were mothers and sons, others of just the sub-families, &c.) but abut two dozen were of everyone.)
