Day 3 with Emily

Welcome back to the 3rd and final day with Emily, who serves as a Grace missionary in Edinburgh, Scotland with her husband and two children. Today we will hear how we can specifically pray for them.

Please tell us how we can pray for:
MP: You and your family
Emily: The Lord is challenging me to pray for what is impossible but possible with God. So I’d appreciate prayer to be persistent in prayer! We are also needy for God’s help to shepherd Anna and Elijah’s heart to God. It is challenging to be consistent to expect obedience all the way, right away with a happy heart! Mikey is currently working of a thesis for his ThM in historical theology. Please pray that God would help me to think of creative ways to help him so he has more “time” to complete this! And we’d appreciate prayer for opportunities to share Christ with neighbors as we have them in our home for meals throughout the summer.

MP: The ministry
Emily: We’d appreciate prayer as we consider what to do for our INDEX program next year. Our expanded core team (3 new members for next year!) covets your prayers, as they’ll have greater responsibilities next year as we turn our focus toward a place of future ministry. So most of all we long for God’s wisdom about the journey ahead! Please pray that a church eager for solid teaching for the Word of God and a desire for discipleship would want Mikey to come and lead them pastorally!

MP: The country
Emily: The spiritual state of Scotland has been steadily declining for years. Yet the need for strong church leaders has become clear and efforts to train & equip them are growing. Pray that the strengthening of leaders would strengthen churches! Within political leadership there has been debate recently about ethical issues such as animal-human hybrids. Please pray that God would intervene!

Thank you again Emily for sharing with us! We have really enjoyed getting to know you and your family more! You can keep up with Emily by visiting her blog!

  1. Melissa,

Thanks for focusing on missionaries! I think you did a great job and you have given people an idea of what life is like for us and how they can specifically be involved through prayer and encouragement.
