Day 7

Today we woke up and will go to sleep in the same state. Yay! Colorado!! Today was also about reconnecting with old friends. We stayed last night with Juliette and her husband Matt. Gus & I went to Hillside Bible study with Juliette before she got married and moved to Colorado. They have a super cute little boy, Richie, who is 2 1/2 and she is pregnant with #2. Richie was super attached to Gus this morning and it was so cute!

After some yummy blueberry pancakes we set out to go exploring. Driving through Colorado was so beautiful. The big blue sky and white puffy clouds is incredible. We love this state!!

Our first stop was to Golden, where the state capital was before it was moved to Denver. It was a quaint town with lots of history in it.

We ate lunch down by the river which people were tubing down. I so wanted to jump in!!

Here Cael is with a statute the founder of Coors beer. Cael jumped up and gave the statue a hug.

Then we went to Denver. They have ghost writing all over their buildings, which you can see below. The writing is historical and cannot be removed, even if the building is used now for a different purpose. It was very neat to see such historical writings everywhere.

In the middle of all the skyscrapers and modern buildings, they had this old church.

Here is the Nelson family, right before we said goodbye to them! Thanks guys for the visit and letting us stay the night!!!

Then on our way to Colorado Springs we reconnected with Rebecca Livsey Armstrong and her husband David. Gus & I went to CSUN Bible study with Rebecca waaaay back when we were dating. It had been about 10 years since we last saw her! Her and her husband took us to Red Robin for such a great dinner. Here is Coen and Gus with probably the closest thing to the Statue of Liberty that they'll ever get :)

Rebecca, Coen, and me. She is her same bubbly, cute self and we really enjoyed the time catching up with her after so many years!

Cael leaned over, gave me a death grip around my neck, and asked Gus to take this picture. So cute!

Right before we left the Armstrongs we got one final picture and of course Cael had to join in!

Then we drove to MTI, our destination for the next 2 weeks! We are here now, feeding Coen his last bottle then putting the boys to bed for the night.

I'm excited to put our clothes away in drawers and out of suitcases for a few weeks! We've already met a couple heading to West Africa and are excited to meet more people as they come in tomorrow! Our first session is tomorrow afternoon. Please continue to pray for us. And thanks everyone for all of your comments and emails; we are so appreciating the feedback from the road!!
