Day 6

We started our day off with the Powells taking us to this amazing bakery where we ate the yummiest cinnamon rolls. They tasted homemade, which is because they were! What a treat!!

Here we are, one last group shot before we hit the road...

We have such a super elaborate system using our cigarette lighter; I just had to take a picture. We bought a Y charger, which allows us to plug 2 devices in. So we have one device that plays our iPod through the radio, another device which is a plug and allows us to plug our laptop into it so Cael can watch DVD's...yes Brianne, we broke down and bought this. There is no way we could do these long drives without a DVD player!! And into the plug is a spot for us to plug our cell phone charger into it. SO at the same time we can have our cell plugged in (and thus have the GPS system in our phones fully running and not draining the battery) AND Cael can be watching a movie in the backseat. AND we can be listening to something from the iPod in the front seat. Pretty niffty, eh?

Once we were on the road, there was lots of green. So pretty!

And we stopped by this river to feed Coen his bottle. Cael threw rocks into the river, one of his absolute all favorite past times!

And we looked up into the sky and saw this!

Finally we made it to Wyoming!! Woot!!

And had to drive through the Tetons into Jackson Hole. It was a detour but so worth it. Such a beautiful drive!!!

We didnt stop in Jackson Hole but drove through it. What a cool town. Super crowded. But we both made a mental note to come back someday.

And then we drove for a long time. And somewhere in the plains of Wyoming, our GPS system stopped working because we didn't have network. So we made a short and unexpected detour, only briefly, into Utah....

But we bought a map (never know the next time we won't have network) and kept on driving. Saw this interesting rock formation...

And mostly saw lots and lots of this...nothingness. In the middle of nowhere. Today we drove through the entire bottom part of Wyoming and man is it big!!

After about 14 hours of travel, we have finally arrived in Colorado!!! Hoooray. And guess what...the sign passed us by for Colorado and we missed it. My fault since I was driving. It snuck up on me in the dark. So here is a Colorado sign that someone else took in the daylight. You can see it better anyways :)
We are VERY happy to be in Colorado for a few weeks. We spend the night today in Denver and then tomorrow will travel to Colorado Springs, where we will attend a linguistics training class for two weeks. We're all glad to be in one place for more than a night. And happy to see Colorado! We are grateful that the Lord has continued to bring us to each destination safe and sound. Please pray for us as we attend PILOT, the name of the class we'll be taking. We're excited to see what the Lord will teach us!!
