Day 3

Well a lot has happened since I blogged last night...we left OC around midnight and about 30 minutes down the freeway we began to hear and experience loud sounds and sensations. Something was not right! We pulled off the freeway and had a flat tire!! AAAH :) This is why we have a rental car, so nothing will go wrong, right? Well we called AAA and they came out eventually and put the spare on. And then we drove to LAX, about an hour away and only a slight detour, to exchange the van for a new one. The new one is identical except it has a GPS system. What fun it was to unload then load all of our stuff into the new vans at 3 o'clock in the morning; didn't realize how much we had! But we were praising God for the situation and how He worked so sovereignly in the situation; it could have been so much worse! We were thankfully only in Irvine and within an hour of a new van; we could have been in the middle of nowhere and hours from a location to get a new van. We could have been in a sketchy area of LA but we weren't. We traveled over 7, 000 miles on our last trip in our own car and had no such incidents; with a rental there was no cost involved and we quickly resumed our trip. What a blessing that the Lord worked in the ways He did! Here's our flat tire...

So once we were on our way again, I climbed into the back sleep and slept for a few hours. What a blessing to be able to lie down and sleep while we're driving. Gus, my hero, drove through the night. After we stopped for breakfast, then he went back and slept while I drove until lunch. I got one more nap in before we stopped in New Mexico for the night. It's been kind of fun to be here, since we were here just a few weeks ago and recognize roads and sights! We had dinner at Applebee's and both boys enjoyed dinner...

Tomorrow I probably won't be able to blog. We'll leave here in the morning and drive all day, stopping of course for meals, then through tomorrow night until we reach Georgia, Wednesday morning. It will be about 20 hours of driving plus all our stops. Thankfully most of it will be at night. But please pray for us tomorrow :)
