4th of July

We were thankful to celebrate the 4th of July here! Since it was on a weekday, we didn't actually celebrate it until the Sunday after, the 10th, but it was fun to still get together! There is a couple in our church, who are American, that lived in Germany for over 20 years and now have retired here in Spain. They invited us and a bunch of expats over for a BBQ at their house. We had so much fun!

Gus and Coen. We all tried to dress in red :)

There were a bunch of kids and Cael had fun playing with everyone! We all sat outside in their backyard porch at these tables and ate such yummy food!

This couple bought this house that they are in the process of renovating. They live in a quaint pueblo village about 15 min outside of Leon. Love how the outside looks!

Here's their living room. They've done so much work on the house. This room used to house livestock!

Here is Eileen, our host, in her cute kitchen working away!

I had such a great time at the picnic. I peppered the guests about Spain, asking questions about culture and food. What to expect. What's different. What do they love, etc. It was such a great time for me of learning more about this beautiful country we are blessed to live in now. The food was great-hamburgers and hot dogs! And then we ate for dessert apple pie, of course!
