the nearness

after over a month's blogging hiatus, i am back...

gus was gone to the states for shepherds' conference so i held down the fort here in spain. then we had lovely houseguests for a few weeks with lots of living and doing in between everything going on.

i've had blogging in the back of my mind. a lot. several of you faithful readers have written to say you miss my posts. thank you. i am humbled that you still check and want to hear about our life here in spain. that ministers to me. a lot.

one of the activities we were privileged to attend was a conference about being gospel centered. john and karna koh from faith bible church in ladera ranch, where we lived and attended for 6 months before coming to spain, came to stay with us while john preached on being gospel centered.

it has given me much to think about. how i am too distracted and busy to focus on the gospel as i should be. the gospel is not just for the unbeliever and our initial justification. the gospel is for the believer and something that we need to preach to ourselves every day.

i was incredibly convicted by the weekend and hope to make changes in my life. i want the gospel to impact everything i think, say, and do.

i hope my blog will reflect these changes. yes i will still post pictures about the children and our lives here in spain. but i want the blog to reflect what i'm learning and how i'm growing as i look to Christ and what He did on that cross by dying for me. and for you.
