Harmonicas and guitars

The older Cael has become, the more he has entered into the world of the pretend. He has the skill and ability to turn any thing into something from his imagination. It's been an unexpected treat to watch his pretend skills develop and take Coen with him; Coen is Cael's biggest fan and imitates pretty much whatever his big brother does.

Well on one of the hotter nights in August, both boys were out on our porch, in their underwear somehow (!), putting on a concert from their imagination. Cael was on the harmonica and Coen on the guitar. This concert coincidentally occurred during a beautiful time of the evening, just before the sun was setting. I brought out my "good" camera and watched the concert unfold...

Coen's instrument was a guitar; this microscope was a perfect shape and he sang at the top of his voice to accompany his playing.

Cael's object of choice was a lincoln log. He hummed and sung along with his playing. The funniest songs to me were the soundtracks; his soundtrack of choice was the Star Wars movies!

After a pretty lengthy and impressive concert, we noticed the sun was setting. I am in love with the view from our balcony and the sunset that night was particularly breathtaking. It made everything look rosy; even the buildings and trees across the street.

It was a fun night, one of those special family times that reminded me of how thankful I am for the gifts the Lord has given me.
