Randomness, part 4
After returning home from Vegas, we re-packed a few things and headed out to Santa Clarita to spend the night with some of our oldest friends, Mike and Jennie and their 3 kids. The kids had a BLAST playing with their kids. And we enjoyed some great time catching up with our dear friends.
That night, my Mother in Law hosted a dinner for some friends from the Spanish ministry at Grace, to talk about Spain. She made her famous pizzas and empanadas, which were to die for, of course!! And we really enjoyed the time of fellowship.
That next day, we were privileged to attend Oakbrook bible church, in Thousand Oaks. Gus presented and preached to this sweet congregation. And then, afterwards, we went out to lunch with the pastor and his family, as well as another family from the church. It was, seriously an amazing time of fellowship and encouragement to us. One of the biggest blessings if furlough is spending time with believers all over the US; we are so blessed!!
That night, Gus's parents babysat our boys and Gus and I snuck away for a date night and a good time of fellowship with each other. We had amazing sushi, cake pops and lattes from Starbucks. It was a needed time together and we are always so thankful for times for just the two of us! And, of course, beautiful sunsets on the way home!!
That week, I had the privilege of attending "Unidas en Cristo", a Spanish woman's ministry meeting that meets every month. This dear, dear group of ladies at the table below prays for us and supports us every month. They sacrificially give to us in a way that brings us to tears!! The leader of the group also asked me to present a little bit about Spain to the group of ladies; thankfully I didn't know ahead of time, because there were quite a few ladies in attendance. It went well and I am so thankful for those ladies.
The boys were dying to see Turbo, after seeing a trailer for it and then being bombarded for almost a month with ads for this movie :). So, Nana and Kiki agreed to come with us and, honestly, it was a great movie!! It was super cute and the boys absolutely loved it!!
We enjoyed dinner with Armen and Armineh, and their children. We had amazing BBQ and the BEST rice, ever!!
A highlight of our time here, for sure, was lunch with Burton and Dolores. They are the cutest and sweetest couple. Words definitely fall short to describe how much we enjoyed our time with this wonderful couple :).
Cael is finally old enough to assemble the little tiny Legos all by himself! He had such a fun time putting together a rather complicated set, and showing it off to daddy, when he finished!!
