Gus started today by going to a men's breakfast at Chase' church and giving a presentation to the elders. He had a really great time and was really encouraged by the men's questions and interest in Spain. We stayed here with Sarah and Cael enjoyed playing with the food and kitchen toys...
Gus went to Urgent Care as his eyes is not getting better and still so red. We found out that he has a scratched cornea! Poor guy. They gave him drops that will help him heal. We are so thankful it was minor and should heal in a few days. We will be keeping grapefruit seed extract farfarfar out of Cael's reach from now on!A lot of the houses are on these huge pieces of land. I couldn't believe how much yard they had. A whole block in Santa Clarita could fit into one of these yards!

For dinner we went to the pastor's house and experienced true Southern hospitality and food. It was amazing. Everyone here is so nice and they sure know how to cook. I came away with a few recipes. Yum! A highlight was when the wife announced that dinner was ready by saying that "we're fixin' to eat now". Gus and I looked at each other! Fixin' to eat! Love it.
Gus had the privilege of giving another presentation to some more elders and their wives tonight. It was another great opportunity and they had a lot of questions and interest in Spain. As always we are trusting the Lord and excited where He will lead us in this.

I love that expression--"fixin' to eat". I should try it here and see if anyone understands me ;).
ReplyDeleteJealous in a good way of all that you are seeing in our Country. It is my desire to see our Country someday. Seems like another world out there! What did they fix for dinner?
ReplyDeletevictoria, i'd like to know what happens if you say that!
ReplyDeleteelizabeth, it totally is another world out here. and for dinner, they actually served hot dogs and burgers. but what was so good was this squash dish and her peach cobbler. out of this world!
