After leaving San Francisco, we drove several hours through the beautiful sierras, to arrive in Fallon, Nevada, for a visit to one of our supporting churches. We've been to this city a few times now, and a visit to their Walmart is
always in order, because they honestly have the best I've ever seen. It's huge, clean, new, and just so nice. Ok, we are weird :).
Our weekend in this city was filled visiting the sweet families there. First up was Geoff, Lenna, and their four girls. They've adopted two girls from Columbia, and it was super fun to talk Spanish with them! This family always blesses us and our boys LOVE their girls; they asked the entire weekend if we were going back to their house!
We also visited Mike and Aimee, along with their four kids. Mike is seriously one of the funniest guys I know, especially because he laughs the hardest at all his jokes; you cannot not laugh when you are around this guy! Mike and Aimee are such dear friends, and we enjoyed talking about Spain for several hours with them. They kept telling us how much they pray for us, so it was a huge encouragement to spend such time with these prayer warriors for Spain!! Our kids also really enjoyed playing with their kids, too.
Next up was dinner with Mike and Jill; Mile is the head pastor of Grace Bible church and he is such a wise and godly man. Jill is also, seriously, one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Their kids are great and our boys had a blast playing with them and their fusball coffee table. We spent quite a blessed evening also talking about Spain and being so blessed by their company!
On a side note, I've put a few pics with Gus showing a book to people. So, in case you are wondering, we made a picture book of Spain, with pictures of our home, our church, our city, and snapshots of daily life in Spain, so we could give people a flavor for this beautiful country we are privileged to serve in. It has been so fun to have these books and if you are a missionary with a furlough coming up, I totally recommend putti g something like this together; it's such a great tool!
Sunday morning, Gus presented and preached during their service.
Afterwards, they had a potluck lunch, and it was such a sweet time of fellowship with this church. We really, really enjoyed our time!!
And then, before we knew it, we were driving out of the parking lot, on our way home, with a pretty big road trip of almost a week over. Cael burst into tears almost as soon as we were out of the parking lot because "I'm going to miss them!" So true. And how great is Skype and other such tools that we can use to keep up with friends all over the world!! Thanks, FBC for a tremendous weekend!!
Loved seeing you all again. Praise God for you guys and your work for the gospel.
