Our trip to Nashville came about after months of planning. It's kind of hard to accurately describe a trip of this magnitude, so I'm hoping all of these photos will help. I couldn't shorten the post, so it will definitely be one of my longer ones-you've been warned :)
Our trip started off at LAX and we made it thru with plenty of time for plane watching. A favorite activity for our boys.
Our boys are seasoned air travelers now. Cael even sat across the aisle on his own and thoroughly delighted the elderly couple next to him.
We had never been to this part of Tennessee before, and I must say it is such a pretty part of the country, filled with green rolling hills.
We stayed with Jake, Debbie, and their three boys. Our boys absolutely lovedlovedLOVED playing with their boys. It was a huge blessing for us to see our boys have such great friends.
One morning, Debbie hosted a ladies breakfast for some ladies in the church. It was great to meet them and have some sweet conversations and fellowship about Spain.
On Sunday, we went to their church and Gus presented about Spain in their first, Sunday School hour, then preached during their main service.
Our family even made it into the word search!
For lunch one of the days, we discovered this pizza place that flies in their ingredients from Italy. They use wood burning ovens and had really good pizza.
We also enjoyed the best coffee EVER in a few of Nashvilles amazing coffee shops.
On our last day there, we took all the boys to a water park and it was a ton of fun. The boys had a blast playing with their friends and we enjoyed the time of fellowship so much.
On our last night, Jake and Debbie hosted a dinner for the elders and us. We were able to spend some quality time with the elder board and after a very yummy dinner, they asked Gus questions about Spain, followed by a time of prayer. It was a very encouraging time with the elders, to see their care and concern not only for us, but also the ministry in Spain. I also had my first sweet tea, and it was amazing!!
So sadly, our trip was over way too soon. We had such a great time in a beautiful city, with some great people. We were also very impacted, as a family by the ministry and example of Debbie, Jake, and their three boys. They showed us how to be hospitable, and make people a priority. They were so kind, generous, and loving to us and I know we won't forget our time with them!!
Jake drove us to the airport and through some more of the beautiful city of Nashville. We really loved that city!!
This chocolate was a parting gift and it was SO yummy!!
Why is it that time really does seem to fly when you are having fun?!? It certainly did the week we were in Nashville! Before we knew it, we were back on the plane and headed back to LA, but we all definitely left a piece of our hearts in that beautiful city.
I always hear such great things about Nashville. Looks like they're true!
